The town itself is only around 2 kilometers from the gate of Machu Picchu but you will have to take a 20 minute bus ride to get to the gate. The town also features hot springs to soak away your aches and pain from a day of trekking or climbing Huayna Picchu. The baths are open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. every day and cost around three soles.

Machu Picchu is a must see in any trip to Peru or South America and is one of the most famous ruins in this region and in the world.
